Welcome to The Oaks Condominium web site. The Oaks community is located in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. It was originally built in 1972-74. The age and grace reflected in this community has made this a premier community in the area, which is surrounded by mature landscaping, single-family residences, golf courses, and nearby shopping.
The Oaks Condominium project consists of eighteen buildings containing one hundred twenty-four units. The two story buildings are six and eight multi-unit structures constructed of wood, brick, and wood siding. The interior partitions between units consist of stud walls faced with sheet-rock, wood panels, and brick. The water, sewage, and garbage collection service with recycling is included in the association dues; electricity, telephone, and cable television service is available to all units; natural gas service is available to some units.
A community pool is located adjacent to the clubhouse where two restrooms are provided. The clubhouse reservation form allows residents to reserve use of the clubhouse for private events. The clubhouse accommodates up to forty-two people in the open room with its hardwood floors, cabinets, counter top with a sink, two small refrigerators, and a microwave. Furnishings in the room are comfortable, but limited to a sofa, chairs, coffee table, and dining table. Some additional chairs and tables are available in the small storage room.
Located just off of NC54 across from the East 54 community and adjacent to the Meadowmont community, The Oaks is convenient to shopping centers, downtown Chapel Hill, UNC Chapel Hill, Duke University, Research Triangle Park (RTP), and several golf courses. The bus stop on NC54 at the southeast corner of the community provides access to the S and V routes of Chapel Hill Transit Monday through Friday as well as the 800 route of Triangle Transit seven days a week and the Safe Ride G route late at night on weekends. The Chapel Hill Transit weekday G route and Saturday FG route are accessible a short walk to the east on Hamilton Rd.
The Board of Directors holds an aggressive position in maintaining the property values and neighborhood pride in this community. The needs of the community are carefully reviewed and addressed on a regular basis. The installation of new roofing finished in April of 2015 and because dues provide for adequate reserves no special assessment was required. Other planned improvements and maintenance such as storm water handling, patio lights, and window replacement will likewise be funded by existing reserves. The Board of Directors employs Community Association Services, Inc. to provide comprehensive, professional management services to The Oaks Condominium.
